New Releases from Milly Taiden, Sylvia Day and more!

PARANORMAL

Carly Toblan had a little too much champagne at her best friend’s wedding. Now she’s found herself flirting with a hunky shifter who’s bent on showing her how much he wants her. She’s never been with a shifter but suddenly this curvy girl is hearing the call of the wild up close and personal.

Bear-shifter, Bastien Auberon, knows two things for sure. 1. Carly is his mate and 2. She doesn’t want to want him. Too bad because she does. And he’ll use that unquenchable desire to get her to be his. He’d never used sex to keep a woman before, but in love and war, anything goes.

With her father sending eligible men her way, and someone trying to take his mate from him, Bastien’s ready to roar in frustration. He has a lot to figure out before he can get Carly into a forever state of mind. Claiming a woman had never been this difficult. Good thing he’s so persistent and will let nothing stand in his way.

CONTEMPORARY

This is THE LAST book in the Crossfire series by Sylvia Day

I actually know Sylvia in real life. We met while we were both writing for Ellora’s Cave. I read the first Crossfire novel before it was picked up by a publisher and I was floored! It was the wildest, most dysfunctional, wonderfully crafted piece of writing I’d ever read. It was, in a word, AWESOME!

So pick it up. You won’t be sorry!
**************************
Gideon Cross. Falling in love with him was the easiest thing I’ve ever done. It happened instantly. Completely. Irrevocably.

Marrying him was a dream come true. Staying married to him is the fight of my life. Love transforms. Ours is both a refuge from the storm and the most violent of tempests. Two damaged souls entwined as one.

We have bared our deepest, ugliest secrets to one another. Gideon is the mirror that reflects all my flaws … and all the beauty I couldn’t see. He has given me everything. Now, I must prove I can be the rock, the shelter for him that he is for me. Together, we could stand against those who work so viciously to come between us.

But our greatest battle may lie within the very vows that give us strength. Committing to love was only the beginning. Fighting for it will either set us free … or break us apart.

Heartbreakingly and seductively poignant, One with You is the breathlessly awaited finale to the Crossfire saga, the searing love story that has captivated millions of readers worldwide.

SCI-FI

Gabriel Buchanan is a fighter. Once a marine, now he’s an Admiral and lawyer for Alliance Fleet. He spends his time taking on the tough cases no one else dares to touch. His life changed course after a messy divorce, making him vow never to love again. Until a hot blonde who matches his drive to fight shows up on his watch. She’s a real wildcat–one Gabe wants to get up close and personal with.

Wildcat Lead Warrior, Kelis, has problems of her own keeping amorous young warriors at bay. But that’s the least of her troubles–she has a secret she wants to keep at all costs. For Kelis is not just any warrior but the daughter of a Warlord with impeccable bloodlines. To her dismay, her father gives her an assignment she can’t refuse–infiltrating Alliance Fleet.

Gabe is pissed when the beautiful but lethal Kelis puts his protection detail in the medbay. What will he do when he finds out she’s his now personal bodyguard?

Sparks fly and tensions run high because Wildcats do it better…A statement Gabe is more than happy to put to the test. All…night…long.

MENAGE-A-TROIS

Feline Friday!

Introducing Koreas Pryde — scientist, lion shifter and bounty hunter. Who says you can’t do it all?

Blurb: Scientist Koreas Pryde has a dilemma–she can’t figure out what causes mating heat. As a lion-shifter, she’s had her fair share of run-ins with the dreaded heat, but her battery-operated boyfriend has always come to the rescue. The last thing she expects is for a human male to enter her life, turn it upside down, and render her “toys” obsolete.

Austin James has to have some thick skin—it’s a must being a human at a ranch full of shifters. His time there was supposed to be relaxing, not spent wagging his non-existent tail over a sexy little scientist. But dang it all, if that isn’t exactly what he finds himself doing.

My book is called Shiftin’ Sassy. The heroine, Derria Pryde (a crossover from the Pryde Ranch Shifters) meets the oh-so-fun guys from Eliza’s books. Strap in, it’s time for takeoff!
~~~~~
Derria, like her cousins at Pryde Ranch, is trained to take down the worst shifters imaginable. After chasing her bounty into the Tail of the Dragon, she discovers that this mountain gem is shifter central where they’ve managed to keep themselves off the world’s radar…until now.
Lakota Phillips keeps his status as a S.W.A.T. agent under wraps. No one from Clan Gunn in the Dragon knows what he does when he’s away from this place. But when a fellow agent shows up for reasons that make sense to no one, what is he to do?
But that may have to wait. Kerr Blackwood, the rogue they’re searching for, is a shifter from Lakota’s neck of the woods. And suddenly, Derria’s hunt doesn’t quite pass the smell test.
Shhhh…Sneak Peek
I’m wrapping up the next Pryde Ranch Shifters story and thought I’d give you a sneak peek…
Chapter One
Hair still damp from the shower, Jason DiCaplis walked into the football field his wife called a kitchen. And there she stood, the apple of his eye. And she was a total wreck. Instead of greeting her with a playful nip and a hug from behind, as was his habit, he wisely kept his mouth shut and stayed out of biting distance. Given her current mood, he’d just grab a quick snack and a cup of hot coffee and get out of her hair.
He yanked open the doors to one of the huge stainless steel refrigerators when a sting radiated across his left butt cheek.
He cocked his head at his wild-eyed mate. “Ow, woman! What the hell are you thinking?” He hopped back in time to avoid the tip of another expertly snapped towel.
“This is a big deal, and you’re moving too slow. Clear out so I can get on with… God, I don’t know how I’m going to have everything ready by the time they get here. I haven’t even finished all the prep and the staff are all doing other tasks so I don’t have any one to mise en place for me and…”
Really? Neesia had them all in the kitchen late last night slaving away over the ingredients she needed for the clan-sized meal she’d planned. All four of the Pryde sisters, plus himself and all the household staff had been called in. Even their pilot had been recruited. They’d sliced, diced and cut both themselves and the mountain of veggies, fruit, seafood, and whatever else Neesia cracked the whip about for this week’s visitors.
“Neesia, we did food prep for at least a hundred people just last night. I only have four friends coming.”
“But the scientists coming to work with K and K…”
“Rescheduled, remember? We’ll have a total of ten people, not a whole malnourished rugby team. This is fucking ridiculous, Neesia. I don’t like it when you worry this way.”
Ooooh, wait a minute. Said bustling woman wore the little green silk robe he loved, the one that fell just below her hips and left most of her thighs bare.
Forget breakfast. Neesia looked good enough to eat.
With one hand, he rubbed the welt forming under his shorts, and tried to wrap the other around the frazzled female bustling about the kitchen.
“Jason, stop it. I’m nowhere near done and they’ll be here this afternoon. Damn it, damn it, damn it.”
“Neesia?”
No answer. She’d wiggled out of his arms and buried her head in the freezer.
“Neesia?”
A bag of frozen prawns and some carrots crashed to the floor as she snatched and tossed various items in a flurry of movement. Okay, enough was enough.
“Neesia!”
“What!”
He eased her back and away from the fridges, freezers, and anything else that was stainless steel and involved with cooking.
“Look, these are my friends. My family. You don’t have to go through all this stress. They’re going to love you.”
“But they’re important to you. Cooking for them is a big deal, damn it! I want it to be perfect!”
“Neesia, you’re yelling. And your hair is all over your head from running your hands through it. If you pull any out, I’m telling you now I’m going to be very upset with you. If you’re going to be bald, it should be all over, rather than just one spot in the top of your head.”
His words earned the chuckle he was after.
After all, Jason understood where she was coming from. Cooking for her family was important to her. It was an expression of love into which she put her all. But this was fucking nuts. The woman was wearing herself to a nub over pleasing his friends. And while Jason was flattered that she cared enough to go to these lengths simply because these people meant a lot to him, he was not pleased that she was weirding out over it. Nobody, not even the James boys, were worth risking her sanity. And if Jason prided himself on anything, it was taking care of his mate.
When she wouldn’t stop squirming trying to get back to the damned fridge, his patience slipped. A deep feline growl pushed its way past his throat and reverberated around the stadium sized kitchen. Neesia immediately stilled and cocked an eyebrow at him.
“Are you growling at me, Jason DiCaplis?”
“I’m going to do more than growl if you don’t stop this madness. Relax, or else.” The firm grip he had on her shoulders eased as the tips of his fingers traipsed down to her wrist to hold her still. Leaning in, he inhaled his favorite fragrance–the natural scent at the nook of her neck. God, the woman smelled so good. And it always drove him wild. Especially when the scent of her sex blended into the mix.
And he knew how to make her cream in record time. Knew exactly what she liked and how she liked it.
“Damn it, Jason. Not now,” she semi-demanded and tried to push him away. But her fingers flexed on his bare chest and then played in the sprinkle of hair there.
“Now is the perfect time. I think you’re overdue for a bit of stress relief.”
Cradling the back of her head, Jason held Neesia in place as he gently kissed her lips. Well, it started out gentle, anyway. But in mere seconds, the attempt at seduction grew into flat-out raunchy need. The need to devour rather than simply taste. The need to rut rather than distract. Bottom line–Neesia simply brought the freak out in him.
Snippet Saturday – Small Town Stuff
This week’s theme is ‘Life in a Northern Town’, or small town living. Nothing says ‘small town’ like country charm. So enjoy this snippet where Pryde Ranch is clearly the place where lion shifters can enjoy the good life…
Lou walked into the elegant dining room and was immediately directed by one of the staff to a chair across from Jason and Neesia. Neither sat at the head of the table, but side-by-side instead. Lou couldn’t blame them—the view was spectacular, given they faced a wall of screened glass with an unimpeded view of the setting sun on the vast horizon.
The table was set with elegant silver-lined china, dainty tea cups and crystal wine glasses. Lou appreciated Neesia’s attention to detail when he noticed the sturdy glass beer mugs among the delicate stuff. The second he sat down, Lou’s mouth watered. Neesia Pryde appeared to be quite the chef. The smells wafting from the uncovered dishes were absolutely delicious and set his stomach to rumbling. It was pretty impressive considering the woman had managed to whip up many of his favorites with no warning of his visit at all.
And then Niah was there. The huge, white pine table sat eight with room for more, and his woman had waltzed in and sat her pretty self clear at the other end. God, she seemed practically a world away.
Patience, Lou. Patience.
Turning his attention back to the table, Lou wasn’t sure what made his stomach grumble more—the huge spread in front of him, or the scent of that lotion stuff Niah used on her skin that made him think of sundaes—warm, sweet syrup poured over something fruity…with a cherry on top.
Neesia started the dinner off by passing the first dish around. When Lou was done piling his plate, his inner country boy shouted a big yeehaw. He had a pile of hot water cornbread, mustard greens doused in what tasted like homemade spicy chow-chow, and a mountain of macaroni and cheese—and the stuff was made with real cheese instead of that orange, plasticky stuff. He lifted his fork and then paused a moment when the staff brought in yet more food.
This time, his inner-lion lifted its head and took notice—buffalo. Huge pieces of rare, perfectly cut buffalo steak that had been grilled just long enough to add a hint of smoky flavor to the meat. Lou turned towards a smug Jason. “Really?”
Jason simply grinned, and leaned in to kiss his smiling mate. “Yep, that’s how we roll, isn’t it honey?”
“Damn right.”
As a shifter of one of the predator species, his body required huge amounts of protein to stay healthy, and this was a close to heaven as a carnivore could get. He didn’t care that all eyes were on him as he dove headlong into the grub. There was very little Lou loved more than good, southern cooking…other than Niah in his arms, of course.
There was very little talking during the meal as they all stuffed their faces. Lou was glad to see none of the women did that dainty shit where they just pushed the food around on their plates. No, these were lions dressed in designer jeans—beautiful killing machines who took their food seriously.
When the dishes were cleared, cold beer was poured and set in front of Lou along with a baked dessert—bread pudding with raisins and pecans. Mmm, one of his all-time favorites. He took a bite and moaned his appreciation.
That’s when the grilling began…only this time it wasn’t a buffalo on the barbeque feeling the heat this time.
